Cooking the way abuela taught us

El Buen Gusto Restaurant has been a quiet fixture on Tezel Road for years, serving the kind of Mexican breakfast and lunch that tastes like it came from someone's home kitchen — because it did. Every pot of pozole starts early, simmered slow and seasoned with real heat, not the watered-down version served for tourists. As one regular put it, the spice level here is "perfect... not made for the average pozole goer." Approach with risk, and you'll be rewarded.

Beyond the pozole, our migas plates come loaded with grilled bell peppers, onions, and jalapeños, finished with melted cheese and served alongside refried beans, fried potatoes, and warm flour tortillas. We make two salsas fresh daily — a fiery red and a milder green — so everyone at the table can find their comfort zone. Nopalitos a la Mexicana on corn tortillas round out a menu built on tradition, not trend.
